Day Fifty-Three - 2/11/2012 - Cork

I may have mentioned this in the blog before, but Meng and I went to Cafe Depeche on North Main Street today.  The cafe is infamous to us for never being open, especially as we walk by it almost every day on the way back home.  They do take their name from Depeche Mode, seeking to be a coffeeshop with a bar-like atmosphere where people can enjoy music along with their coffee.  I can't comment too much on the bar-like atmosphere as there has only ever been two other people inside the cafe when I went.  There are some photo montages of various Depeche Mode album covers.
They have the usual suspects, but I was feeling adventurous and so tried a "Nutty Irishman", which was espresso with hazelnut flavouring and Irish cream.  It was spectacular, and came complete with latte art.  Meng ordered a Gingerbread Man, which tasted as it sounds, with a dollop of cream.  Despite their restrictive hours, it was a nice place to get fancy coffees.  They regrettably don't have WiFi, and the espresso just doesn't beat the Bookshelf, but it makes for a nice place if you want to sit and chat.

Go raibh maith agat.
(Irish, literal: A thousand thanks)
Thanks a million!
